Customer terms of service
Edit workshop trading terms, email customers when they change, and track who was last notified.
Customer terms of service are your workshop’s trading terms for end customers — payment, retention of title (goods stay yours until paid), collections costs, and acceptance by continued use. They are separate from TreadOS’s own platform terms. Open Settings → Customer terms.
Where to manage them
TreadOS starts you with a clear standard template you can edit. Use placeholders such as {{workshop_name}} so your business name fills in automatically from Company settings.
- Edit the terms document and tick Save as a new version when the wording changes enough that customers should be notified again.
- Edit the notice email (subject and body). Preview it and send a test to yourself first.
- Emails use your company logo and business name the same way reminder and invoice emails do — upload the logo under Company settings if emails still show the TreadOS mark.
- Use Email customers missing this version to notify anyone who has not yet received the current version. The table shows when each customer was last sent a notice.
- Use Open public link to review the customer-facing page before you send notices.
Customers can read the terms on the public link included in the email, and signed-in portal users can open Terms of service in the portal menu.
Have a local solicitor review the wording for your country before you rely on it for credit or recovery — the template is practical and broad, not a substitute for legal advice.
